AFGHANISTAN, Kandahar: Tens of thousands of children in Kandahar don't attend school, due to a shortage of teachers and school buildings, the cost of schooling, and the cultural beliefs around education for girls. These photos capture children not in school who play on the streets or care for siblings, as well as some of the lucky ones who are being educated. Pictures taken on September 11, 2015. All children have parental permission to be photographed.
