Members of the Los Diablos de Santa Cruz perform in the San Francisco Carnaval parade.
The group is performing a cultural dance with its roots in Spain representing the historic battle between the Moors and the Christians. The dance symbolizes taking the souls of the defeated Moors. The devils wear chaps (called chivarras) made of goat skin and hair, jacket and tie and a wooden mask.
