Childes Tomb Dartmoor Devon
Childes tomb on high Dartmoor is a place surrounded by legend and myth, it is situated in a desolate area of the moor just to the south east of Foxtor mires and just north of Fox Tor. Legend has it that the original tomb was that of Childe the Hunter, who was Ordulf, son of Ordgar, who was the Anglo-Saxon Earl of Devon in the 11th century. The name 'Childe' is derived from the word Cild meaning 'Young Lord
