Crowds of a festival

This is a unique event where unmarried girls and boys are required to publicly kiss as part of Balinese New Year celebrations. The kissing is said to throw out the bad luck attained in the last year and bring good luck for the new one. The girls and boys either run or are carried to each other and only know who they will kiss once they meet in the middle. The crowds and participants are doused in water. The event is called Omed Omedan and is only held in Denpasar, the capital of Bali. 27/03/2009
