Italian Renaissance Tuscany, Florence, Santa Maria del Fiore and
The facade of Santa Maria del Fiore was one of the most turbulent in the history of the construction of the cathedral of Florence. Initiated at the time of Arnolfo di Cambio and decorated until the fifteenth century, important sculptural works, was demolished in 1587, and despite the many projects, never performed until the nineteenth century, when the project was put into operation by Emilio De Fabris, who can still be admired today. The subject of controversy ever dormant, the work is an important example of neo-Gothic style in Italy.
