Jointed Moine Schist Rockface supporting vegetation
This is a rockface of Moine schists, Psammite, which shows some vertical joints, and is slightly dipping. It is the base for several different types of vegetation - Birch trees, Bracken and Ferns. It is part of the rockface in Corrieshalloch Gorge, Wester Ross, Ross-Shire, Highlands of Scotland. This gorge was created by glacial meltwaters. It can be found at map reference NH 203782.
