Windswept Bog Cotton Plants
In the front of the image we see a bogland scene of water with grasses and other bogland plants, leading us to the main image of a line of Bog Cotton, Eriophorum angustifolium, plants. These are clearly windswept with all the plants pointing in the same direction. The plants in the distance, which are in soft focus, draw attention to the abundance of bog cotton in this area. These are a perennial sedge favoured in peatland. This was photographed at Forsinard which is part of the Flow Country of Sutherland in the Highlands of Scotland.
