NEPAL - HINDU - BUDDHIST - RAIN GOD - FESTIVAL
NEPAL, Lalitpur: Women splash water on their face as they celebrate Bunga Dyah Jatra, more commonly known in Nepal as Rato Machhendranath, on September 23, 2015 in Laltipur, Nepal. The festival is celebrated by pulling a chariot through the Nakhu River. Rato Machhendranathis is known as the god of rain to both Hindu and Buddhist worshippers, who hope the celebration will bring enough rain to prevent droughts during the rice plantation season.
