INDIA - STRIKE - TRANSPORTATION WORKERS

INDIA, Ajmer: A group of transportation workers block the road in Ajmer, India on October 1, 2015 after going on strike. The All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) went on an indefinite strike on October 1, 2015 throughout the country to protest against the present toll system and one time payment of taxes.Nitin Gadkari, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, offered an electronic toll system available by December but made it clear that scrapping the entire toll system is not an option. The demonstration caused disruptions in the movement of goods in parts of the country.
