PAKISTAN, Karachi: Islamist supporters of Mumtaz Qadri protested in Karachi, Pakistan on October 9, 2015. Qadri was convicted for murder of Salman Taseer, then Governor of Punjab province. Demonstrators shouted slogans and held banners during the protest.Pakistan's Supreme Court dismissed an appeal against the death sentence of Mumtaz Qadri on October 7, dashing the defendant's hopes of any relief at the highest judicial forum. Qadri killed Taseer, chief of the country's largest province, in 2011 in the capital Islamabad for criticizing Pakistan's controversial blasphemy laws.
