A Prairie Rose in scenic Saskatchewan
Wild Prairie Rose (Rosa Arkansana) is a deciduous shrub growing to 1.2 meters tall and spreading with suckering stems. The leaves are pinnate with 9-11 lealets. The flowers are pink and with a 2.5 to 4 centimeters diameter. The fruit is a red hip that is 10 to 15 mm in diameter. It is the state flower of Iowa and North Dakota and is also the provincial flower of Alberta.
