UNITED-KINGDOM-LONDON-DEMO-TAXI-UBER
UNITED-KINGDOM, London: Dozens of black cab drivers stage a protest in central London, causing gridlock to Whitehall and Trafalgar Square as taxi drivers hold another protest under the hashtag #Blackcabprotest against competition from app-based taxi services, and especially US company Uber, on February 10, 2016. Since its introduction in Britain, drivers of the city's famous black cabs have argued Uber bypasses local licensing and safety laws and amounts to unfair competition. They have staged a number of high-profile protests, including go-slow demonstrations that have brought traffic in the centre of London from Trafalgar Square to Victoria street.
