UGANDA - POLITICS - VOTE - POLICE - PROTEST

UGANDA, Kampala: Police Chief Kale Kayihura talks to the press as policemen are seen guarding the Electoral Commision offices, on February 22, 2016 in Kampala, ahead of opposition-called protest against the results of the presidential election. Opposition leader and presidential candidate Kizza Besigye was arrested the same morning as he attempted to leave his house in Kasangati to challenge its officials on the outcome. Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni extended his three-decade rule, after winning a fifth term in polls rejected as fraudulent by the opposition leader under house arrest. Uganda's veteran leader was declared the winner of the country's presidential election with 60 percent of the vote on February 20, far ahead of the 35 percent won by detained opposition chief Kizza Besigye
