With migrant and refugee arrivals in Europe surpassing 110,000 in the first two months of the year alone, the United Nations warned that border restrictions being imposed by some states could cause chaos. Macedonia's restrictions have seen the number of arrivals slow to hundreds a day, although thousands more continue to land daily on Greek islands. Around 3,000 people were waiting at the Idomeni border crossing between Greece and Macedonia on February 24, local police said.
