Tile mosaic on Hundertwasser House in Vienna, Austria
The Hundertwasser Haus in Vienna, Austria is a public housing project (1985) designed by artist architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. According to his ecological, philosophical and artistic principles the house has all different windows, is painted in almost psychedelic colour, has decorative pillars, lots of tile mosaics, a roof covered with earth and grass, and "tree tenants", large trees growing from inside the rooms their with limbs extending from windows. This unusual building includes 52 apartments, 4 offices, 16 private and 3 communal terraces, and is also home for 250 trees and bushes.
