Big Moose Rack in RMNP
This Bull Moose in Rocky Mountain National Park has a seriously big rack. Female moose partially choose their mates based on the size of his antlers. The males also use their antlers to fight rivals, although they will often display their rack to try to discourage competition. I came across this moose while hiking through the Wild Basin Area. I was able to spend about an hour and a half with him, taking photographs and watching him eat. More pictures and the story of my encounter with him are available at SheaOliver.com.
