Rosebay Willowherb
Rosebay Willowherb with the sun shining through it... "A tall, virtually hairless perennial of 1 metre high and taller. The long, narrow willow-shaped leaves grow alternately (as opposed to opposite one another) from the erect stem. The rosy-purple flowers (2-3 cm) grow in long tapered racemes (a spike-like inflorescence, in which the individual flowers are clearly stalked)."
