The Historic Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys
This bridge was built by Henry Flagler as part of the Overseas Railroad to Key West. In the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane the railroad suffered much damage. This bridge was taken over by the state of Florida and converted to part of the Overseas Highway. It has since been replaced by a modern bridge and a 2.2 mile section is now used by walkers and bicyclists for exercise and to get to Pigeon Key. In the photo you can see the old railroad rails are used as handrails.
